20th to 24th May 2013

I've had dengue fever before. But i don't remember being so pussy-whipped by it when I was 16 (pardon my french)!

Seriously! What the HELL is happening??? I have been discharged, i no longer have the fever, the chills, the everything.. but i feel. SO. TIRED!!!

The first few days post discharge i would wake up in the morning feeling like the world was swimming around me. When it finally stops, i can get up and do my stuff but by the time i get the boys to school, i am BEAT. ABSOLUTELY BEAT.

Doesn't help that I have to rush out a few reports due to my long absence! Doesnt help that the younger boy had stomach flu the DAY we got discharged and needs to go poo 5 times a day!

What DOES help is having the husband around, who is ALSO very fatigued, ALSO very beat, but at least there's an extra pair of hands, particularly when the kids are around! (phew)

In the following days, I would feel fine in the mornings and crash after lunch. I also found the lack of appetite very annoying, because for ONCE i am at my "ideal" weight (ok not really "ideal", but getting there) but i CAN'T EAT TO CELEBRATE BECAUSE I AM SO DAMN TIRED AND EVERYTHING TASTES LIKE RUBBER.

sigh

Having said ALLLLLL that.. i am still thankful for the recovery.. thankful that it is US who got dengue, not the kids, not the old folks (although, maybe the old folks just think we young people are damn weak LOL). Thankful that my husband is also on MC and this is seriously a record number of days we have had lunch together, we could actually have a decent conversation that was NOT about kids, and we actually could hang out, almost like the old days!

It's tiring, this recovering thing, but i'm going to miss it when we both need to get back to work ;(
