Ok so i didnt know kids werent allowed in ICU. A panicky nurse came charging towards me and said my kids had to wait outside. When told i had no other carer for them she was kind enough to say "I jagar for you but you better hurry!" Then looked warily at my 2 offspring.
Anyway, was thankful to see ah ma is doing MUCH better after transfusion! Phew!!! My parents were there as well (unplanned) and we all had an impromptu lunch gathering afterwards, which the boys enjoyed very much (after a week of seeing only my face, my parents were a sight for sore eyes... Not to mention the pampering.. Oh the pampering!)
And for the FIRST time in the history of mankind.... I DROVE my parents home and they did NOT scream!!! (Mere mild panicky comments, but thats it!)

In the evening we went back to inlaws' place and were treated to a delicious home cooked pasta by my newly acquired sister in law. The boys LOVED it!
Ahhhhh life is goooood ;)

Thankful for an alert carer for my grandma... At 9:00 pm granny was admitted to ICU for internal bleeding due to stomach ulcers. She lost a lot of blood and needed transfusion. It was thankfully spotted early by her carer that granny looked pale and had black stools when she changed her diaper.
She then called my aunt and uncle who's a doctor and immediately brought mu granny to hospital as instructed.
Thank goodness she took my granny's complaints of stomach pain seriously!!!! Instead of brushing things off to make her job "easier"!
She is truly a carer and am thankful to have her by granny's side!
For now, really pray that granny will get well soon...

Today i am thankful for ...
This incredibly easy recipe I used to make a delicious brownie for my social group kids! It was so easy they did everything by themselves from start to finish (except for taking it out of the oven of course) :D

Also thankful that we managed to see JUPITER and 2 of its brightest moons at the Science Centre Observatory!
There was cloud coverage at first but it turned out ok in the end.. Phew!!
The kids DID get really fussy towards the end as i lugged them all the way back from JURONG 😱 but nothing ventured nothing gained, right? :D

Eons ago (what seems lile eons ago), we had a talk abt poor children who have no homes to go home to (and feel safe in) or have nobody to lookafter them. My older kid was visibly moved and wanted to give away all his earthly possessions immediately. The younger one was not so convinced and held on to the opinion that he REALLY needed all his toys.
I figured there would be plenty of opportunities later to build in empathy.. So i let it go.
Months later, i (on a whim) submitted a photo of the boys eating cotton candy and looking damn pleased with themselves, naturally, to a contest held by Dutch Lady (titled #50brightkids). I hd no idea what was in store or what would happen (like i said, a whim).
To my amazement, that picture was selected, and we won ourselves some milk powder (1.6 kg x 6) and vouchers.
While we could probably keep the milk powder and save loads of money (its like a year's worth for us.. We dont drink that MUCH milk anymore), we thought hard about whether we needed it or not.
The answer was, of course, no.
To my surprise, i didnt need to do too much guiding and prompting (in fact, none!) to get the boys to think what they should do with it.
"Lets give to poor children!" Said the older one.
"like the childrens in the Home!" Said the younger one, who has trouble with plurals.
And that was that.
:) thankful for little boys who want to do good :)

School Hols! We celebrate with a movie : Mr Peabody and Sherman! Not as bad as we thought, but not as good as we hoped :)
We eventually did not leave the house in this getup as we decided it was too difficult to be undone when he needs to pee in all urgency ;)
